Let’s Reduce Our Food Waste!
Steps to Start Composting
-
Step 1:
Sign-up For a Compost Subscription
After payment we will send you an email with our Membership Agreement along with the details of your new subscription.
-
Step 2:
Receiving your First Compost Bucket
After you have signed and returned your Membership Agreement, we will deliver your first compost bucket right to your front door.
-
Step 3:
Fill Your Compost Bucket & Set it Out on Pick-up Day
Once your compost bucket arrives, begin to fill it with your household’s food scraps that are approved in our Do & Don’t Compost list. Upon delivery day, place your full bucket outside and we will pick it up and replace it with a clean empty bucket.
We started vermicomposting on our farm to supply some needed fertility to help us grow more crops. We started with composting our own kitchen scraps along with organic debris from our farm plots. After learning about the massive benefits composting has on our environment, we created a compost subscription program for our community. We wanted to make composting simple so anyone that is interested in reducing their waste ending up in that landfill could join our subscription service.
Today we offer our composting services to the Fargo-Moorhead area with plans to expand throughout the Red River Valley. We bring all of the food scraps collected back to our farm where our composting worms break it down into a soil amendment called worm castings. We use this finished compost on our farm to aid in germination and to promote plant growth. Along with using worm castings on our farm we also offer a free compost payout to all our loyal compost subscription members.
If you are interested in reducing your household's carbon footprint or just want to start composting but don’t want to manage a plie, consider joining our Compost Subscription Program.
